The Vatican Museums are among the most renowned and visited museums in the world, housing an extensive collection of art and historical artifacts amassed by the Catholic Church over centuries. The museums are home to masterpieces by artists such as Raphael, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Caravaggio, and Titian.
Just think of it: God’s Word says every human being is God’s masterpiece; his unique creation. He made us in his image and filled us with creative capacity. In these museums, you will see the work of human hands. God’s masterpieces created their own masterpieces in order to glorify their Creator.
While you are here, meditate on the following verse from Saint Paul’s letter to the Ephesians:
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”—Ephesians 2:10
What are the good things God has planned for you to do for his glory? Like the art in these museums glorify God, you are a living, breathing work of art. How does your life glorify your Creator?
