The Colosseum

Let’s be real—the world is full of injustice and violence. How do you usually react to it? Some people scroll past it, trying to ignore it, while others feel overwhelmed and just shut down.

But have you ever heard about people who actually rejoice in the middle of suffering? It might sound wild, but that’s what we find in stories throughout history of Christians who faced persecution and even death for sticking to their faith in Jesus.

Think about the confusion of the spectators in the Colosseum when they saw ordinary people facing death with courage instead of fear. They were able to go to their deaths rejoicing because they knew that their God was in control. They believed in a life that outlasts death and looked forward to the day when God would make everything right.
